Over 30,000 hours spent dealing with Court IT chaos

In January 2019 the Ministry of Justice experienced 3 major incidents of IT disruption.  Not only did this have a significant impact upon the frontline services provided by the courts, it then resulted in over 30,000 hours of court staff time in addressing the backlogs that had been created.

Sadly, this is an all too familiar story of the court service at present with the press littered with similar stories.  Earlier this month the Law Society Gazette reported (article by Monidipa Fouzder 19 July 2019) that the government was set to spend over £1.3 million on the flexible court hours pilot scheme.
