We acted for clients in a professional negligence matter against a solicitors firm which went into administration but which previously put itself forward as a specialist in purchasing property abroad.
James Martin acted for the claimants following their purchase of a holiday home in Italy and the failure of the defendants to advise that the garden was not owned by the seller of the property but was, instead, subject to an insecure right of exclusive use. The claim was interesting because it involved the use of two Italian experts on Italian law and property valuation.
The case was listed for trial and then settled on the day before the hearing in our clients’ favour.
