Leading Yorkshire law firm, Berwins, has internally promoted prominent residential property specialist Khal Shahjahan to Senior Associate as part of ongoing growth within the firm.
Boasting 20 years’ expertise in all aspects of residential conveyancing, Khal joined Berwins in 2018 and has progressed through the firm’s internal development programme.
Commenting on the move, Khal said “I’m delighted to be developing my career in this way. In many ways, Berwins is an exciting place to be with a myriad of developments which will benefit both the clients we support and the practice as a whole. I really look forward to contributing to our ongoing growth well into the future.”
Reflecting on the appointment, Head of Residential Property, Jo Randall, added “The past 18 months have been unprecedented for anyone involved in property. Over that period, we have seen the market first pause due to Coronavirus restrictions and then boom as buyer demand and the Government’s Stamp Duty holiday supercharged the property process. That’s meant significant pressures within the process, which have only served to underline the value of having an excellent conveyancer on your side when making a sale or purchase.”
“Throughout this period, that’s exactly what Khal has shown himself to be. He has continued to delight clients, deploying his deep expertise and genuine care for them to ensure that the process was as smooth as possible for those he supported. This promotion recognises both that dedication and the role Khal will play as we continue to develop the firm.”
The announcement coincides with the arrival of Jonathan Chapman, an experienced Legal Assistant who adds further resilience to Berwins’ property unit.
